Selank vs Semax

Selank and Semax are often named together. Both use a nasal spray, both have seven amino acids, and both come from the Institute of Molecular Genetics, Russian Academy of Sciences. But one treats anxiety and one boosts thinking. That is exactly what they are.

Selank copies tuftsin, an endogenous tetrapeptide (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg) that affects immune function. Selank adds a Pro-Gly-Pro tail to make the molecule stable. The two paths match their uses. Selank boosts the calming (GABA and opioid) tone to lower excitability and anxiety. Semax boosts the learning and growth (BDNF and monoamine) signals to raise thinking and brain strength. They are not the same tool. Each fits a different brain goal.
